Erinne Willock wins Women’s Prestige Cycling Series title – Cycling Update
Canadian cyclist Erinne Willock has won the overall title for Women’s Prestige Cycling Series. She won the series by scoring 451 points and defeated the National Race Calendar leader Janel Holcomb and also managed to defeat Olympic gold medallist and the
former world champion Kristin Armstrong.
She has performed consistently in the series and her hard work has enabled her to win the first position for herself and the team. Erinne Willock also mentioned the accident that she had couple months back and after this win she has proved her form. “I was
injured during a race in Holland in April, I broke my Scapula and separated my shoulder. I had six weeks where I didn’t ride outside and after that I was fortunate to be back pretty quick,” as she briefed.
She was exited on her win while she was talking to the media she said, “The team goal was to win races and get on the podium.” She also mentioned that the team has worked hard on the series and it is the dedication that has enabled us to win it today ahead
of other favourites.
Willock won the race with Janel Holcomb at the second position with 352 points and Kristin Armstrong at the third position with 319 points.
Leah Kirchmann dominated the Sprint classification with 275 points followed by Janel Holcomb with 264, Heather Logan Sprenger with 261 while Carmen Small and Joelle Numainville with 187 points.
Kasey Clark, Rachel Warner and Rushlee Buchanan won the first three positions for best young rider’s classification with 385, 366 and 341 points respectively.
Team Colavita Forno D’Asolo topped the team’s classification with 1336 points with Team Tibco / To The Top at second with 865 and Peanut Butter & Co / Twenty12 at third position with 596 points. Team Missing link Coaching Systems / Specialized and Primal-Map
My Ride were at fourth and fifth positions with 395 and 295 points respectively.
Rachel Heal who is in charge for the team Colavita Forno D’Asolo appreciated the performance of Leah Kirchmann and stated that Leah is a wonderful cyclist and  a rising star for Canadian cycling.
