Erm big computer help please

right, i deleted my friends years of animation work ( 89 gb). i didnt just delete it into recycling bin i actaully deleted the partition. so in other words formatted it off the hard drive, with a split second it was gone lol. and i dont know if she backed it up. i cant just restore it its completely formatted off the hdd. any ideas of how i can get it back, fast

Any decent Data Recovery software should be able to help.

STOP USING THE COMPUTER RIGHT NOW.

Even though you deleted the partition the data should be on there as long as it hasn't been overwritten. That's why I tell you to stop using the computer because as you do it will overwrite things.

Now what you'll need to do is get a recovery program. I've used R-Studio in the past and it has worked very well for me. It can be found at www.r-tt.com for $80 (or $50 if you know which files system her hdd uses). You might be able to find it for... free on the internet somewhere if you're so inclined.

Obtain that software somehow and then run it as per their directions. If the files haven't already been overwritten then you'll have them back in no time.
