After installing an HP dvd 1040i 20 x Multiformat DVD writer the Roxio sofware tells me that the driver is not ready. The power cable must be securely installed, and I tried my best to secure the data cable into the back of the drive. There are apparently only two cables, the power and the data. Also once that is done, the tray will not release the disc.
What have I done improperly? I am a novice and have opened the pc twice so far in trying to solve this problem with no success.
