Question:

Error while trying to open ONLINE CHESS GAME?

I'm unable to play chess online through yahoo service, an error occurs while i try to open, the ERROR is:

1) You've an old version of the client in your cache

2) You will need to restart you browser and come back to retreive the current version.

If restarting does not work, manually clearing your browser's cache should fix the problem.

after receiving this message, i closed internet explorer(all windows), then re-open it, Tools-Internet Options-Clear-History+Delete Cookies+delete recent files(+offline files too), and then restart again, but when i re-login again and try to open the same problem again occured, when i tried to play in OLD VERSION(chess), the error message was different,

1) You are behinde a firewall,

2) You not not connected to internet,

I turned firewall off, but after that it doesn't work,

I'm using from my educational CAMPUS, 2Mb bandwidth,

PLZ solve this problem, i want to play chess online,

  2. Hi, there are 02 Cache types viz. of browser & another of Windows cache. You did right for browser.

For Windowos, clear contents of 1. Prefetch & 2. Temp sub-folders in "Windows" folder on "C" drive.

In addition to that, you need to enable Java scripts from "Tools" menu of Windows.

Third thing: you need to update your Flash component on your PC.

I think this should work yaar!!!

  3. Normal ways of clearing cache( deleting browser history, temp files, cookies) does not remove older outdated game demos

Click on  Start button, ,Search, using files/folders. type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it then click remove. Next trip to chess it will prompt you to download the new demo for latest version of yahoo chess
