Ervin Santana builds faith on Los Angeles Angels’ rotation
If there is one thing any team would be proud of, it is the support they avail from the players before the start of a long enduring season. The Los Angeles Angels from Major League Baseball are enjoying that quality, as team members come forth to declare
the club as prime runners in this year’s American League campaign. The Halos have a hard task on their hand as their major objective lies with nudging the Texas Rangers off the top stop. However, Ervin Santana has come out to say the Angels have the pitching
prowess to do just that.
In a recent interview with the press, Santana took the opportunity to talk about his club’s rotation. With the Philadelphia Phillies availing most of the attention due to their strong list of ball throwers on the starter’s squad, Santana believes the Halos
should not concede to the assessment that belittles their strength in Major League Baseball. He talked about his side in terms of the Phillies.
"We're better than anyone to me. It doesn't matter. They're not perfect. They have more experience, OK. But sometimes you don't have the energy to win. Not every single game you're going to feel good."
Ervin who hails from the Angels’ rotation believes his side is on top, with the likes of Jered Weaver, Dan Haren, Scott Kazmir, Joel Piniero, and himself in the lineup. There is a good set of experience in the midst as well, which is why there is a hunger
to do more this time around. The round of players in the rotation have availed more than 14 victories each in their campaign last season. Santana has gone for 17, which is considered his career best.
"To me, always, every year, it is our responsibility to lead the club," Santana said. "We're the ones who have the ball. The game doesn't start if we don't throw the ball.
"As part of a rotation, we just do the best we can to try to minimize damage and put the team on a pace to win. That's our goal."
Will the Angels make it to the playoffs? If the rotation lights up, well then there is surely a chance.
