The Catalan club are keeping tabs on the Lokomotiv Moscow star who flattered to deceive in Russian Premier League after his mega million transfer from Levante.
The anticipated meeting between Lokomotiv Moscow and representatives of Caicedo took place in Russia. So far, the news is optimistic for Espanyol, with both sides looking to come to mutual understanding with the Catalan club.
With the striker hoping for a return to Spanish Primera Division, Espanyol are the only La Liga outfit willing to shell out the money Lokomotiv are asking for Caicedo.
Monies asked by Lokomotiv are prohibitive for Los Parakeets, who are willing to pay only a fraction of the 8 million Euros the Russian Premier League outfit paid for the Ecuadorian just a year ago.
Caicedo has had a good report card to show for his time in the Iberian Peninsula, where he has triumphed with 17 goals to his name from 45 competitive appearances. He has age on his side, the 23-year-old is an interesting prospect with a bright future in front on him.
With Espanyol coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mauricio-c24899 Pochettino, keeping tabs on the prolific striker and revealing his desire to add him to the dressing room at all coats, a compromise looks to be on the cards.
Caicedo’s return trip from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 is being heralded as a star signing of the 2012 summer transfer window. Although the striker failed to make much progress in the Siberian climate, it is believed that he will light up the stadiums with his influenetial displays on the footballing pitch.
The negotiations look to will come to fruition in the coming days with the former Swiss Super League star wanting to link-up with the Spanish outfit.
Another signing that Espanyol are looking to close in the coming days is that of Spanish legend, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 and eyeing a return to the Iberian Peninsula with Los Parakeets.
Benfica do not want the Euro 2012 winner on its accounts and want an economic plan depending on Capdevila’s performance for his transfer to Catalunya, something that matches Espanyol’s  desire to pay the minimum payment for his services.
