this is my homework: Pretned your a russian immigrant leaving his/her country for the united states. Write a goodbye letter explaining to your friends and family about your decisions to leave.

My friend said that the russians were under communism so how did they immigrate to the us? I also have to find an approximate cost to how much it might cost to get to the us!

Don't listen to your friend. Sheesh.

They came with many other immigrants in the late 1880's. Mostly Russian Jews.

During the cold war, it was harder, but Soviet Jews also immigrated then.
