Essay help on discipline?!?

Question

Im doing an essay over the summer for school. Its on spanking and discipline, so i need you to answer some questions.

a) do u spank ur children, if so, answer the following

- what position do u put them in to spank

- what do u spank with

- how many times do u spank

- what age do u stop spanking

- how often do u spank

b) if u don't spank, how do u discipline ur children?

This will be easy for me.....we don't spank....ever.

Discipline is having things and privileges taken away.

In our home this works.....90% of the time.

i try really hard to find the reason behind the behavior and try and fix the problem to help the behavior. if that does not work i send my son to my room till he can tell me what he is doing wrong and why. if that doesn't work i take away something. after all of these i talk to my child and tell him he is loved and that it is my job to make sure he is safe/polite/etc. and that that behavior is not OK, and give him some other ways to act that would be better. distraction is good too. or give him a way to express whatever he is doing in a constructive way. hope that helps.
