  1. THESIS: Depression can gravely effect families, friends, and individuals.

1 paragraph: examples of families that have battled with depression

2: the effect on friends when someone close to them has depression

    3. The physical and physiological effects of depression on individual.

Hope this somewhat helps. Good luck

  2. Start with the definition of depression, then expand it into broader terms and different ways it affects people. Introduce symptoms and how it makes you feel. Since you've battled it, you have experience and therefore you know first hand what it's like and how to describe it. You can mention things depression can cause a person to do (suicide, cut, drink, drugs) and also how therapy or anti depressants can help as treatment. you can also throw in some information about what causes it and as a friend what someone should do if they see a loved one depressed.

My depression story: I was depressed for about 6-8 months, and I believe what caused it was stress, as well as rejections (from a guy, from a school activity i was excited for, from my father). It really brought me down so much that I began cutting. I felt like it was a release for all the burdens I felt. Like it could make me happy and actually feel something... rather than constant numbness. I'm not proud of how I handled my depression at that point. But my friends were supportive. I was convinced to try therapy and I'm glad I did because I had come up with about 5 ways to commit suicide and after the therapy I began to get better. depression is a long painful and awful battle but you can get through it with support and help.

    hopefully this helps you out!!

  3. Hi! I'm a 40 year old man with a wonderful wife, and two great kids, and I have depression. My family doctor says that true depression comes from nowhere. People who get depressed for a reason are simply sad, and anxious. I hope that makes sense. I get feelings of anxiety for no reason. It makes me feel quite stupid, because I have so much to be happy about, but I don't feel that way at all. I go through phases of insomnia for which I take several different meds. I also get a racing heartbeat for no reason. Like doing speed just out of the blue.

As far as the essay. I would just tell your story. If you don't want anyone to know you're the one you're talking about, just use me. I don't mind.

  4. I have an tip to start off it may sound weird but let me put it out.....

If it like a story then Start of with a lyrics of a songs which is really sad and slow and and project a person emitions and the way he thinks listening to the song kind a stuff

i know it might not be gr8 or useful but wanted to give a shout

  5. i would begin with the definition of depression and go from there.  you can talk about causes and effects..and how bad it can actually get.  If it is allowed, you can talk about yourself. if not, give crazy good examples of people (just google it and you can find articles on people)

hope this helped...dont sweat it because i had to write a 12 page essay over Charles Dickens so this is nothing :)

  6. well mines are to long but what i can say is say what u have learned from it

  7. I always hated essays because I always felt that you were put on the spot to be graded on your thoughts.  I don't feel anyone can really grade you on something so deep.  What you need to do is just go off your own personal experience by just writing down how you feel, how you cope, and what it has done to you.  With in all of that you will get your Opening and conclusion with no problem.  Start with the body and then work your way out.

  8. i havent been depressed and im sorry yooh have but um....start out with like saying something like im here to talk about depression,i battled depression for many years,so here's my essay or somethin like that.....i know my answer really sucks but at least i tried!!!!
