You are in a final exam in your second year of study at university and the question requires, an essay in concise prose with no diagrams or other time consuming tasks.

How many words do you think you would would write on the paper about your subject in 1 hour? and more importantly how many words do you think the examiners would expect roughly.

If you really need me to be more specific, then imagine its a question about chinas industrialization from 1949 to now...just in case theres any of you out there who tell me they cant possibly answer without more information (I know you can).

  1. 800.

I am a high school senior, and I wrote a 1272-word essay in 90 minutes for my English final exam. (I attend the school that produces the most Ivy League-bound students worldwide.) Such a length is typical in our school, so mathematically speaking 60 minutes should get you 800 words or so. But to be realistic, 600-700 should be sufficient if you're able to write concisely - which is what you're supposed to be able to do anyway.

  2. well I would get to wordy and I would worry about a killer opening (only if you have time) I would put everyting you know and use exapmles and explane them in your own way. Know dates and stuff to.  Once you feel you really don't know more on the topic come up with an ending that will sum all up
