Essential guitar solos?

I've been a guitar player for years but just started a little soloing.

What are some solos every solo player has to have played at some point?

To give an impression of my level: I'm trying stairway to heaven now. Going quite well.

The stairway solo is a good place to start, but in the scale of all solos, pretty easy. Solo's unlike just songs, i wouldn't say have staples that every guitarist should know, mainly because everyone has there own taste in such things, so it's hard to learn a solo that everybody will love. regardless, some my personal favorites that will impress people are songs like "since Ive been loving you" (Zeppelin), "achilles last stand" (Zeppelin) or even Cortez the killer by dave matthews band and warren haynes. you will have to youtube that one but there are tabs for it and its one my favorites
