  2. Hello! Welcome to scrapbooking!  I hope you love it as much as I do! I have been scrapbooking for 9 1/2 years and I love it! I have the perfect answer for you, if you don't mind a direct quote. Here it is

    Essentials:

    cardstock (quality solid paper)

    patterned paper

cutting tools (craft mat, cutting mat, ruler, pencil or paper trimmer, and scissors)

    Extra

clear ruler for planning page elements and keeping them straight while attaching them

    ink or paint

    pouches

    ribbon

    brads, eyelets, staples and clips

    stickers, rub-ons and die cuts

    sandpaper or other rough surface

    chipboard letters and shapes

As far as an experienced scrapper's tools, it varies. Start with the basics and plan to try one new technique each page.

The best way to find ideas and such is a reputable magizine. They are cheaper than a book and full of info and advertisements for whats new and usually have a website to go along with them.

Honestly my favorite is is the Better Homes and Gardens Creative Collection Scapebooks Etc. Page Planner

    bhgScrapbooksEtc.com

You will find instruction, classes, definitions, everything on this site.

    Hope this helps!!

  3. This isnt the real answers for your question, but in a good shop where u can buy scrapbook stuff (scrap), which is in WHsmith.

In the City Centre (the WHsmith in there)

well its on the bottom floor just in case u dont look everywhere and find out its downstairs.

    First get these items:

    Sissors

    glue

    tape

    ur hands

    scrapbook

    scrap

Then you put them all together then Wa Laaa!!!

Before that i would plan wat ur going to do first so u no wat ur doing.

Heres some advise what to do:

U could stick in pics of your good memories.

    U could doodle in it

write a little about your fav memories.

    Solid objecs (shells?)

    pic of mates together.

stick some really cool stickeres in to make it more GLAM!

u got any pets well if u do put them down or even a pic!

    Holiday memories?

P.S sorry not even ive tried it out before but those are a few i thought of!

Hope u have fun scrapping!!! =)

  4. My "must have" tools when I started were a 12" paper trimmer, a 12" ruler, craft scissors with a fine point, acid free adhesives of various kinds, such as glue stick, pen, and a tape runner (both permanent and temporary), and an acid free black pen with a fine point.

Later, I added a craft knife, self healing mat, acid free colored gel pens, hole punch, eyelets and eyelet setter (I got a Crop-A-Dile that can punch two different hole sizes and set a wide variety of snaps and eyelets), as well as other embellishments such as brads, ink pads and stamps, and a template/shape cutter that I can buy various template for, such as oval, heart, square, alphabets.  I can use my shape cutter to make the shapes in several sizes to use for emblishments, photo mats and frames.  The one I bought is the Coluzzle:

    .

There are many other excellent template/shape cutters out there in just about every price range.

  5. I would not get the Coluzzel system as a newbie. Very hard to learn how to use. Try it from someone before you buy it.

    12" paper trimmer

craft scissors- I would get Cuttlebee black and yellow ones.

two sided tape runner-EK Success has nice ones

Card stock.-Bazzill is my favorite, a little higher priced. It is a heavy card stock with a slight texture to it

As you do more I would get a die cut system. Sizzix Big Shot can handle everyone else die cuts. I have used Quikkutz, and Cuttlebee dies  on the Sizzix. The Sizzix will also cut a variety of paper, chip board etc.
