a Twenty20 match since January 2011. But Grayson hopes that the Victorian will take it as an opportunity to enhance his one-day skills.
"We are delighted to have signed Australia's premier bowler in Test cricket," Grayson said while speaking to the media reporters after finalising the deal with Siddle.
"Australia are looking keep him fresh for their schedule and for Peter, this will be a chance for him to enhance his one-day skills,” he hoped.
Last season, New Zealand’s pace duo of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SB-Styris-c2463 had represented the county in the Twenty20 tournament, but this time around, Southee is expected to be unavailable due to national commitments, while Styris has already
been snapped up by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852.
"With Tim Southee not coming back, it leaves us light in our bowling line-up so it will be good to bring him alongside http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Napier-c1505. We are all very excited to be bringing in a world-class bowler for our FLt20 campaign," the Essex
head coach added further.
The Eagles had also tried to sign up the Australian pacer last season but the deal could not be finalised due to various reasons, and the club ended up signing the South African http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LL-Tsotsobe-c1842. But the Proteas pacer failed to impress
for the Division Two county, and was later released, a week before the end of his contract. Tsotsobe’s stay at Chelmsford was also shortened by an outburst on the social networking site, Twitter.
This will be Siddle’s first experience of playing county cricket. Essex will open their Flt20 campaign against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851 on June 13.
