Essex v Yorkshire - County Championship Division Two - Day 4 – Live Score and Update
Yorkshire 312 & 252/8d v Essex 177 & 148 (51.5 ov) - Yorkshire won by 239 runs
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yorkshire-c867 a massive win of 239 runs over their rivals Essex on the final day of the four-day match, in the ongoing County Championship Division Two, at County Ground, Chelmsford.
Having given Essex a staggering tally of 388 to win, the Yorks, were in a comfortable position and just needed to bowl-out their rival team before the end of the day’s play on Friday, September 14.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 resumed their second innings from 28 runs on the final day in a bid to draw the match by staying on the wicket till the end.
However, Yorkshire exactly knew what was needed to be done to win the game, as with only 34 on the board they made inroads by grabbing the wicket of Craddock, who perished after scoring only five runs. The batsman was caught by Jaques off Patterson.
Shah and ML Pettini then looked in good form as the two batsmen stayed on the wicket, toying with the bowlers in order to keep the scoreboard ticking.
However, this partnership that seemed to be taking Essex on the route to salvation, met its end when Azeem Rafiq dimissed Pettini on 17 runs. At the time of this wicket, Essex had managed to pile 74 runs on the board.

With Shah at one end, skipper JS Foster took guard and belted ten runs before Rafiq struck against and sent the Essex skipper back home on a knock of 10 runs. The captain left his team standing on a total of 109, with still a long way to go before reaching the required target.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Charles-Lennox-James-c44309 Wheater then smashed 19 runs to bolster the score to 135 before walking back to the pavilion. It was then a sad tale for Essex, as their last three batsmen lost their wickets without scoring, leaving Shah unbeaten on 71, as the side crumbled on a total of 148.
