Chelsea’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Essien-c25294 has gone on to label Barcelona to be a beatable team and feels the Blues can easily overcome any test the Spaniards might impose during the game.
The Blues are going to play host to the Catalan side on the 18th of April, as both the teams look to battle it out in the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Despite everyone labelling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 as the favourites going into the game, Essien believes that it is a little too early to write Chelsea off, since the team can beat just about anyone, when they get their cards right.
When talking about the upcoming game, Essien is quoted to have said: “We have played them a few times in the last eight years or so and they are definitely beatable”
“I have a feeling it's our time to get one over on them."
Essien then went on to talk about the last time the two teams met, when Barcelona edged past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, thanks to a very late Andres Iniesta goal.
“The last time we played them it was full of drama and had some superb football," he continued.
“That game had everything, including a couple of great goals; we had them where we wanted them, but failed to finish them off and paid the price.”
The last meeting between the two teams was also a very controversial one, with a number of decisions being given in favour of the Catalans.
At the same time, the referee inexplicably failed to award Chelsea with a number of penalties in the game and this went on to enrage a number of the Blues players, especially http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044.
Nonetheless, with Chelsea still keeping memories from that game in the back of their head, they are more than likely going to go into their game with nothing but revenge on their mind.
Should http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo be able to get the team to focus this eagerness in a positive manner, they could just go on and knock the Spanish side out of the competition.
It is now going to be a wait till the 18th to see just what happens at the Stamford Bridge.
