  1. It's simple distribution kid, this is barely trig, it's more algebra.

    1/cos^2 + tan^2 - tan^2 - sin^2/cos^2 = 1

    1/cos^2 - sin^2/cos^2 = 1

    sec^2 - tan^2 =1

    ((1 + tan^2)^1/2)^2 - tan^2 = 1

    1 + tan^2 -tan^2 = 1

    0=0
