  1. Apparently, it changes depending on the area. The Estate Agent acts for the current owner, the seller/ vendor, who would

pay them a commission (i.e. a % of the sale price of the house) which can vary considerably - depending on what's been negotiated.

I do know that in London, its 2.5% and in Newcastle, Its 1%.

Typically, an Estate Agent will charge you between 2 and 3.5 percent of the sales price as a commission, but their fees are usually negotiable.

    Hope I helped :)

  2. They charge between  1% and 4% for selling your house. This can vary depending on estate agent and even on offices. It may go up if you are listed with more than one agent too. Plus on top of that you add 17.5% VAT.

So if you are selling your house for £350,000 at 2% commision thats £7000 plus 17.5% VAT makes the total you'd pay them £7525.00.

We are buying/selling at the moment.

The agent we are with charge 1% if we stick with them, but if we take on another agent they will charge us 2%. We are in the south of the UK.

    Hope this helps

  3. It's a lot less than that - it varies average I guess 2% but can be lower or a little higher.
