The Real Madrid midfielder was poised to link with Real Betis but the move failed to materialize after injury to Sami Khedira has seen Granero thrust back into action.
Rumours in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sami-Khedira-c32325 means that the Argentinean midfielder will continue his trade at the Santiago
Bernabeu.
Granero has found himself back in favour in the Spanish capital with the German international suffering from an ankle injury. It has been reported that Khedira will be out for at least three weeks, which allows http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Esteban-Granero-c12919 to fill
the void left by the German midfielder.
Los Blancos’ academy graduate has featured in the last three matches; therefore, all the clubs interested in signing the creative midfielder have been told to look elsewhere for reinforcement.
In a press conference in Seville, Mel reflected that Los Verdiblancos were interested in adding Granero to their roster with the player eager to join them.
"Granero wanted to come to Betis," http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 Mel said at a press conference. "I spoke with him and he was delighted with the idea, but Khedira’s injury has changed everything.
"He is playing at Madrid right now. There is nothing more than that. I put the president in contact with his agent, but I am not involved in economic matters."
The news comes on the back of a recent announcement made by ‘The Best of You Sport Managers’, the agency that represents Granero and supports Mel’s views.
They revealed that the former Getafe man will continue with Los Blancos and will fight for a first team spot until the summer.
"Granero is going to continue with Real Madrid, 100 per cent. He played 65 minutes in the last match in the Bernabeu against Athletic Bilbao and maybe the coach is going to consider him more for the future," the spokesman said while talking
to The IBTimes UK Sport.
Granero’s contract with Real Madrid runs out in the summer of 2013 and this has alerted many European Giants who want to acquire the services of the Argentinean on the cheap.
However, prizing the academy graduate will be a difficult task as the Spanish giants want to keep hold of their home grown player.
