Esther Choe all set for LPGA exposure
American Esther Choe has topped the money list in the 2012 Symetra Tour, making her way through to the 2013 LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour.
Choe has performed well throughout the season and deserved to be where she is right now. Although the American star joined the Tour late in the season, clinching two victories was enough
to put her ahead of the pack.
In addition to the two victories, the star golfer finished runner-up in her third event. It was an impressive performance in every sense, as Choe had to struggle with plenty of on-course problems
at the time.
At the end of the season, Choe stood at the top, having racked up a hefty $55,690.00 to become the most accomplished player of the Symetra Tour.
Before Choe joined the Symetra Tour last spring, she had already switched a number of coaches in her golfing career. A frequent coach switch apparently distracted her for a while, but the
ambitious golfer used the experience to atone for her lapses.
Sharing her thoughts during her latest interview, she said that learning from other players’ experience has been great, but she is trying to reshape her game. She said that the 2013 LPGA season
is going to give her much-needed exposure, and she is ready for it.
“It’s kind of a cool thing that will follow me forever,” Choe said.
Choe started her rookie season in 2007. But she has proved her worth on several occasions, even before joining professional golf. She took part in the Junior Orange Bowl International Championship,
winning the event in impressive style.
The year 2005 also saw Choe prove her mettle as she won the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions. She fought a tough battle against rivals and remained in contention till the final moment of
the tournament.
Choe’s profile boasts big events as well. She played the US Junior Solheim Cup in 2005 and 2007—something that helped her gain global exposure as she competed against players from across the
world.
The US Women’s Open has also seen her unveil her skills. The American golfer participated in the major tournament in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010.
Observers said that Choe has what it takes to become a star performer, but it will be an uphill task for her to face players who are better than her in every aspect.
But the rising star has claimed that she has improved her game quite a lot in the recent months. “My swing has become a lot more simple. . . . In my junior-golf days, I did very well, but
that’s as far as (my game) would have taken me”.
