Me and some lads would like to go to Estonia for two to around six days.

Can anyone advise on what it is like there? Is it cheap, what are the people like?

Any good pubs bars etc.

The ages going will be between mid thirties and mid forties.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

I know I can info from different sites on Estonia but would like to hear peoples personal views.

Thanks

  1. I had been several times in Estonia, specially in Tallinn. It's not so expensive, a bit more than Latvia but still ok.

You may find some great pubs in old town, mostly German style as far as i have seen. There are several middle age restaurants in the middle of old town, that was what I really like in Tallinn, everything looks like from middle ages, btw most of them serves just middle age foods.

If you're looking for a good night club, i would suggest the one in Sokos Hotel.

  2. Tallinn is chock full of restaurants and bars. They tend to be very trendy and cool. It is certainly cheaper there than in Scandinavia or Germany or the UK. The people are nice -- beautiful women, well-dressed guys (the younger set). The "vana linn" is the old town and it is extremely picturesque. It is possible to walk there from the Harbor where Finnish ferries dock. It is also possible to walk to the old town from the main train station. Consider taking the train and visiting some little cities or towns outside of Tallinn. You'll see more "authentic" Estonian life. As for what the people are like, well: in Tallinn there are a lot of ethnic Russians (instead of ethnic Estonians), and also in the bigger towns in the east of Estonia.
