Estudiantes have not had contact with Enzo Perez, says president
Estudiantes president, Enrique Lombardi, claims that his side have not had any contact with Benfica’s Enzo Perez regarding a transfer back to his former club.
The attacking midfielder is allegedly back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984, however the Lions have distanced themselves from the situation with a statement from their chief.
Enzo Perez, 25, signed for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Aimar-c28938.
Featuring sporadically for the Reds during the first half of the campaign, Perez left the country to return to his homeland during the holidays. However he has refused to return to Lisbon since and it is reported that Estudiantes have offered the player
a chance to return to his former stomping ground.
Benfica have been outraged by the situation and are thought to be considering filing a formal complaint with FIFA over the Rat Stabber’s alleged pursuit of their player.
However Enrique Lombardi, the Estadio Único de La Plata chief, claims that this not true and that his team have only had informal conversations with the Sky Blue International.
Speaking to reporters, the official said that there had been no formal talks with Perez and that the club’s sport director had only wished him about the holidays and inquired about his recovery.
"It is false that has ever been any formal contact with Enzo Perez in order to convince him to return to Estudiantes. There was only one contact on a personal level, by our sports director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Romeo, who spoke with Enzo to wish him Happy Holidays and
asked how the recovery was going.”
Lombardi confirmed his stance by saying that the person who spoke to the winger did not have the authority to conduct a move and there was no truth in the rumours going about.
“There is nothing more. The sporting director has little power and cannot negotiate with players, so the situation should be cleared up,” Enrique Lombardi was quoted as saying.
With Estudiantes steering well clear of the ongoing saga between Benfica and Enzo Perez, it remains to be seen what the Portuguese giants will now do and whether the player will return to the Stadium of Light.
