  1. My guess is you either have a clogged fuel filter or maybe a bad fuel pump goin out. I really don't think a half tank of ethanol will make your engine go bad. I used it in my vehicles ALL the time and have never had any trouble. Try putting a tank of premium in it & see what happens. Maybe your jeep will not accept the 85 rating. Is it injected? Maybe you have an injector plugging up. I had that happen on a newer 4wd. It kept dying and I got it back into town and ran a couple tanks of premium thru it and it was ok. Then I ran about 3 or 4 tanks of regular to 1 tank of premium with no more problems.

    Good Luck!!

  2. duh...put in some regular gas.

  3. I don't think half a tank of E85 is going to cause permanent damage but I would get that fuel out of the tank pronto by either draining it (which will cause a disposal problem for you) or driving until you burn it up. Then fill up with normal gasoline.

If the engine still isn't running right or if you see fuel leaking in a week or so, you may have some damage to some parts or gaskets.  You'll need to see a mechanic if that's the case.

  4. Ethanol is not for the 1998 Jeep Grand Cheeroke it is only used for NEWIER GM Cars and Chrysler Cars.

  5. don't worry somehow get it to a garage or you can do it your self pull the plug underneath the gas tank or put a hole in suck on other end then let it drain away care full you don't swallow or get gas in your mouth.

  6. Drain the gas and put in fresh with some injector cleaner

  7. you have been advised against this. all non-flex fuel vehicles will have severe fuel system damage. the ethanol will destroy the fuel lines and various other parts.

ethanol does not burn the same way that gasoline does. i would bet that if you go back to the standard fuel the problems will just about go away.

  8. put regular unleaded in it and hope for the best. Ethanol will destroy your fuel lines and will burn up your fuel pump. CAUTION ethanol will catch fire with your normal electric fuel pump. I work at a Mitsubishi dealership and alot of people ask this question so i did a little research.

    Good luck

  9. Appologize to mom for getting upset that she tried to help you out

by getting you fuel, even if it wasn't rated for your vehcile.

Next. Go down to the local station and fill her up with premium.

You should be fine from there......
