Ethernal Cable CAT6 vs CAT5e?

is there any difference between those 2 cables except their speed?

  1. Not really no.  Perhaps the price to buy them.  If you're doing a home setup cat5e should be just fine.  cat6 would be a gigabit ethernet setup which most homes would be overkill.


  2. no its more about marketing then anything else. just remember the shorter the cable line the better.

    CAT5e supports 100 mbps Speed

    CAT6 supports 1000 mbps (1gbps)
