I have just reinstalled windows XP & all is working well except for sky broadband. In LAN connections the connection is not showing just 1394. For some reason the ethernet connection is not recognising sky broadband but it did prior to the reinstall?

  1. I Think you Ethernet hardware is not recognized or not configured properly......

so go to ADD <new hardware> in control panel check whether its installed or else install using sky brd CD.....

If your not able to install

then go to =>System properties=>hardware=>device manager

then uninstall LAN hardware <only> if it shows "unkown or problem"

then restart and reinstall by selecting automatic search option

run setup cd then switch off computer, modem whatever connected

    and restart.. your done

    give it try

  2. browni is right  the cd that came with sky only configures the router not the computer go to the site of your motherboard the drivers will be there then then folow thease steps ( control , systems , hardware , device manager you will find a yellow question mark on the drivers that are not installed

  3. Reinstall your sky broadband from the disc.

  4. Have you installed your ethernet drivers.

  5. Scan for updates (my computer)

  6. You will need to get a driver for your network card. Either from the motherboard manufacturers webs site or the website of the network cards manufacturer if it is separate.
