Would you agree or disagree with the statement that in order to confront our own racial biases and prejudices, we must first be made aware of them? Why or why not?

  1. 01.  Laws are the best way of enforcing orderly behaviour and civility.

    02.  Enforcement of laws that allow diversity in our educational system (i.e. religious believers, non-believers, huge racial melting-pot mixing without ostracism from within individual communities, varying sexual lifestyles without harrassment and violence, understanding class differences, political differences, physical and mental differences, etc.).  Instruction without influencing judgement.  When prejudice becomes widely socially unacceptable, only the true sociopaths will follow harmful paths in society.

    03.  It is idealistic to think that all humans are capable of, or even care to, confront their short-comings.  That is why law enforcement is necessary in maintaining an orderly society.  Then this great melting-pot of people  can come together to accomplish great things, and learn from each other.

    04.  Change and awareness take time to sink in.  We cannot blame law enforcement for every attack not caught in progress.  I doubt that, unless someone was clinically insane, they would deliberately commit a hate crime, or any crime, in full view of the police in order to get caught.  No logic in it.

    05.  Raking up old problems and re-energizing them is counterproductive.  Moving enthusiastically forward with positive attitudes toward all of humankind, with a benevolent goal for solidarity, is preferable.

Good Luck with your studies, and Warm Wishes.
