If you work in an open-plan office and need to borrow something (scissors, sellotape etc) from a colleague, would you agree that it is POLITE to RETURN whatever it is you have borrowed once you've finished? There's a girl works in our office who tends to borrow things from people and not leave them back, and when I challenged her about it she started ranting about how I knew where it was so why shouldn't I just go and get it myself! That's not the point! What the h**l is her problem?

  1. Of course she should return things! She BORROWED something and you LENT it to her and so said thing should be returned. Borrowing is not the same as giving! It is basic courtesy.

  2. She is wrong she needs to return whatever she borrows from you or anyone.  She probably did not had a good education--I am talking family education. This is something you learn with your parents.

  3. She's wrong- if you borrow something it is your responsibility to return it- next time tell her she can't borrow it-

She should have all her own stationery so should have no need to borrow-

She is an ignorant girl who rants becasue she knows she is in the wrong- ignore her

  4. I wouldn't lend to her anymore. Or do the same to her =] =p

  5. She a spoiled, rotten brat! Who does she think she is anyway? She should return it and say thanks for even letting her to borrow it. If I were any of you, I wouldn't lend it to her and if she asks why, tell her that you don't feel like hunting around for your scissors etc, or you don't want the hassle of getting it back or something. (Her office could be right next to yours for that metter, the point is to send the message I think).

Hope I helped and try not to get as frustrated as I have just from reading what you typed.

    TC!

  6. A simple answer to this problem is to attach a long rubber band to all your office implements. Thus when the borrower has finished using your implement and places it on his/her desk surface, the implement will, by the force of the contracting rubber band, be impelled back to your desk immediately and without the need of further intervention etc.

  7. It happends in EVERY office... It sucks!  but really is it worth getting your toes bent up about? grant you it sucks she isn't  playing fair by not returning them!

maybe hide them so you don't have to hunt them down when you need it!

if she rants again just say because you barrowed them and i expect it to be put back where you barrowed them from!

if you can not respect my wishes barrow from someone else!

don't stress youyrself out over it!

Call your boss and say you needscissors and tape ect.. and don't loan them out!

if he says why don't you have the ones i got you last time say so in so borrowed them and i have yet to see them!

so i'll going to give her my set so she don't have to borrow anymore!
