Spain and Italy took on each other in the finals of the Euro 2012, as both the teams looked to claim the coveted trophy. However, with Spain not performing to their best in the tournament and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 not being renowned for attacking football, the match was
expected to be decided in another penalty shootout.
The match kicked off with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 seemingly picking up their form from the very best minute. They went on to create some decent chances within the opening ten minutes and came close to scoring on two occasions through Ramos and Xavi.
In the 14th minute, the Spaniard went on to open the scoring as Silva found the back of the net for the team. Iniesta went on to play the ball to Fabregas, who drew Buffon out before flicking the ball towards Silva. With the goal at his mercy,
the City midfielder went on to nod the ball into the back of the net.
Italy took time to stabilize following the goal and the team had to wait till the 33rd minute before they could create the first chance of the game for themselves.  Pirlo went on to play a pass to Cassano, who took his time before pumping a shot
goal wards. Cassilas went on to judge the direction of the shot and pushed the ball out of harm’s way before it could cause any damage to the Spanish side.
Five minutes later, Italy looked to find a way past the Spanish defence once again. Balotelli went on to receive the ball on the left and then went on to cut in to create space for himself. The City forward then went on to pop a shot at goal, but his effort
went on to sail well wide of the mark.
Before the half came to an end, Spain went on to practically kill the game as they scored another goal.
In the 42nd minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordi-Alba-c19111 went on to score his first goal for Spain, as he helped his side take a two goals to nil lead in the game.
Alba combined with Xavi, before darting forward and receiving the return pass. He then took his time as he slotted the ball past Buffon and into the far corner of the net.
Soon after the referee blew his whistle to indicate the end of the first half.
