Euro 2012 News: Hungary versus San Marino 6-0 Full time Analysis (Part 3)
Contd.....
Just a minute later, the Hungarian team blared out loud that in no way were they to be considered some mediocre team as Adam Szalai produced a stunner from 25 yards out forcing San Marino to be 4 goals down.
From here till the 34th minute, the play resulted in futility as both teams didn’t let the ball touch the grass on their side of the field. Hungary continued to dominate in the midfield and on the flanks. In the 36th minute, Krisztian
Vermes fouled Paolo Montagna which finally gave San Marino a free kick but to no avail as Alessandro Della Valle lost it.
In the 39th minute, it was Carlo Valentini who challenged the goal scorer, Gergely Rudolf and Zoltan Gera took his free kick directly to the posts. During the same minute, Valentini was slapped with a yellow card for unsporting behaviour.
Balazs Dzsudzsak took a corner in the 39th minute but it was cleared off with ease. A minute later, he committed a foul on Fabio Bollini. Alessandro stepped up to take the free kick but it led no where. Following this, Zoltan tackled Fabio Vitaioli
for which he was signaled while Manuel Marani took the free kick on the eight but wasn’t able to score.
Near the half's end, Valentini, Zoltan, Vilmos Vanczak, Alessandro and Balazs became the players that spoiled the flow of the game with their fouls. In the 43rd minute, Alessandro finally received a yellow card and Balazs came up with the free
kick. With this, the first half ended at 4-0.
The match soon resumed and it became clear that the Hungarians were not going to leave without making a historic mark. In the 48th minute, Balazs brought the ball to Szalai who right-footed the shot into just about 12 yards.
Some 10 minutes passed by and it was the same old story as neither of the teams budged to make space and try to attempt a goal. There was a lot of flanking especially with the wings. Gergely Rudolf helped Vladimir Koman show his game in the 60th
minute as Koman’s goal came up with a spectacular finish, stricking the ball 18 yards out. Till the 63rd minute, there were more and more changes.
Then, the time finally came for the substitutions as Tamas Priskin came in and this was followed by Krisztian Vadocz leaving. In the 66th minute, Rudolf produced a good cross but no one was in place to use it.
The passes and free kicks carried on till the 70th minute mark. In the 72nd minute, Zoltan fouled Maicol Berretti. Alessandro took the free kick and a couple of plays were made but no formation could get a mistake in the flanks.
In the 77th minute, San Marino made their change when Matteo Bugli was called out for Matteo Vitaioli. Hungary also entered Czvitkovics for Koman. In the 79th minute, Vilmos Vanczak fouled Berretti and Alessandro took the free kick.
