Spain and France took on each other in the quarter finals of the Euro 2012. With a spot in the semi finals up for grabs, both the teams were ready to go all out, to make it one step closer to the finals.

back of the net.
In the 39th minute Pique went on to head a ball from a dead ball situation, but he couldn’t keep his effort on target and the ball went sailing wide.

In the second half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 came marching out of the tunnel with a point to prove. After putting on a much improved performance, they went close in the 60th minute.
Ribery made his way forward and crossed the ball into a dangerous area. Debuchy met the ball, but headed his effort over the bar.
In the 70th minute, Alba played a pass to Pedro who created space and passed the ball to Torres. However, before the striker could connect, Koscielny stepped in and nudged him off the ball.
France went on to attact in the 72nd minute, as Ribery pulled a ball back into the box. Casillas was on full alert as he dove to catch the ball before any French player could connect with it.
The match went on to get rather dull, but in the 90th minute Spain were awarded a penalty as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pedro-c29582 was taken out in the box.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alonso-c5254 stepped up to take the resulting penalty kick and sent the ball flying into the back of the net. As a result, Spain went on to win by two goals to nil and were now in the semi finals of the contest.
