Euro 2012 qualifiers: Scotland vs Liechtenstein – Kris Boyd returns
Kris Boyd will be making his much anticipated return to the starting eleven for the Scotland national team, as Craig Levein has promised to bring flair to his side for the Euro 2012 qualifier match against Liechtenstein which will be played at the Hampden Park
The ace Middlesbrough striker was left out of the previous goalless draw that the team had at Lithuaia and after growing frustrated at his team’s lack of ability to finish open chances, the manager has looked to Boyd and Birmingham striker James McFadden to help provide the goals.
The two players who will be making way for the the duo are, Steven Naismith and Barry Robson. This means that Scotland will resort to using the 4-3-3 line up with Kenny Miller leading the line up front.
Lee Wallace is also going to be making his return to the side and will do so by replacing the injured Steven Whittaker at the left back position.
The Wolves striker, Steven Fletcher is more than likely to miss out on the match due to a foot injury that had previously ruled him out for Friday's game, this is also in sync with Kirk Broadfoot returning to the Rangers with an ankle injury that he picked up.
Liechtenstein’s players largely play in the lower divisions in Switzerland, with capital city club Vaduz - for whom six of the squad play - turning out in the Swiss second tier, and Eschen/Mauren - who have seven national team players - in the third flight.
The star players on their side are, veteran striker, Mario Frick, who has previously played in the Serie A with Verona and Siena and now plays for St Gallen in Switzerland, the other being Sandro Wieser who plays for FC Basel.
Experts strongly believe that the match will be a walk in the park for the Scottish side, however anything can happen in these matches and the outcome can only be confirmed once the match is done with.
