Euro Cup or World Cup?

Question

From what i've seen so far you can't compare the world cup to the Euros, would your rather watch Iran vs. Angola or France vs. Holland or the just concluded match; Turkey vs. Czech Rep. or Tunisia vs. Saudi Arabia. As for me, i think only Brazil and Argentina are worthy to be in the tournament.

The standard of football is waaaay much better, the players are tactically disciplined, and besides brazil and argentina all the teams that got to the quaterfinals of the world cup are in the Euros. In the Euros, your weaknesses get much magnified in such a competition of high quality opponents. Case in point, in the 2006 world cup where the football world was realigned and the Europeans dominated once again restoring the order of things the same teams are now struggling. To further demonstrate some of the disparity between competitions, switzerland that got to the second round of the world cup can't even get past there group because they were playing against teams like Togo and South Koreans and the italians and the french who were on top of the world are now struggling for survival, especially the french who were so wonderfully sublime in there game against Togo .

WORLD CUP

why?

cuz the best teams from each continent are there to compete. true, maybe the africans may not be able to match the europeans at SOCCER, but that doesnt mean we gta ignore them, for example; Angola and Iran had made the qualifiers to make it, so had Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.....well i agree Saudi Arabia is kind of a turn-off for something like world cup, but then again their prolly the best in the arab world.

World Cup any day, over any other competition.  Then after that I prefer the Copa America.

i really enjoyed watching euros this year, but nothing can be compared to the world cup, it's like comparing a peice of chocolate to a box of chocolate. :)

Ultimately winning the World Cup is more intense and better. At the end of the day it is true that the group stages in the Euros are harder, but there is also that extra last 16 game in the WC which makes it longer to win the trophy.

more teams,more variety of football,more unexpected things can happen so its more interesting to me

the world cup is more interesting to watch cause .. there is always a country surprising everyone like portugal no one knew they were gonna make it far in 06 and how bout ecuador they played well to........ and my mexico surprise me to a little

This is an interesting question actually. The way I see it, out of all the countries that are eligible for the Euro, there is a much higher concentration of "good" teams as opposed to the number of eligible teams for the World Cup and the number of "good" teams in the world. Many of the teams that compete in the World Cup, therefore, are in fact from Europe.

Regardless, I think the World Cup is much more fun to watch as you get so many cultures and styles of play in one month that the whole event is fun from beginning to end. While I love watching the Euro, I would say that the World Cup has a slight edge.
