Hi, we are fixing to pcs to germany, i was wondering if anyone knew where we could change dollars into euros, we will be in south virginia, and just kinda wondering if anyone knew about where we can exchange money, thank you :)

  1. You can go to your Bank or Credit Union and order however much you will need in Euro, might take a couple of days to get it, unless it's already in the Bank. Don't do it at the Airport or travel spot, as they jack up the service fees and such.

    You may even look into Travelers Checks, more secure then alot in cash.

    Just remember the dollar is very lousy now and everything will be expensive. The exchange rate is about $1.00 = .60 Euro last I checked.

    My folks are paying around $9.00 per gallon of gas for example.

  2. Any bank will do, if they haven't Euro on stock at least with two days notification time-frame, but usually you get better changing rates at the PX bank of your new duty station.

    Just change the amount required during travel, and the rest over here.

    BTW gas is at 9,30 $/per gallon for regular, and it's not forseen to reduce until the end of holidays mid-September.
