Euro Qualifiers Full Time Report: Armenia riot past Andorra to record win

Armenia went on to pull a victory against Andorra, in both the teams encounter in the qualifiers for the Euro 2012 qualifiers. This was Armenia's second victory in the qualifying rounds so far and hence gave them a very good chance of making it through
to the group stages.
Gevorg Ghazaryan, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Yura Movsisyan and Marcos Pinheiro Pizzelli, were all on target for the home side and put the more than one sided affair to rest, with their brilliant displays in front of the goal.
The match kicked off with Sargis Hovsepyan, going on to head a first time effort against the woodwork in the second minute after kick off. Two minutes after that, Ghazaryan managed to find space in the box and brilliantly executed a finish from close
range, to give the home side the one goal advantage early on.
From then on Armenia went on to put the pressure on the shoulders of the visiting side and on the sixteenth minute they had their second goal of the night through, Mkhitaryan.
The fans knew they were in for a goal fest, as the match continued with almost the entire game being played in Andorra's half and with Armenia dominating the proceedings on the night.
The game was however settled almost immediately after the half an hour mark, when Movsisyan managed to go deep into the Andorra half to finish off with precision to give the home side the three goal lead. Andorra then managed to stabilize their defence
for the time being as they did not concede any more goals in the opening half.
In the second half however Armenia struck one more time. On the fifty second minute mark, Pizzelli sprinted onto a through ball, before firing it home with his left foot, from right outside the area. This goal came after the player had already hit
the post, only minutes earlier.
The rest of the match then continued as a mere formality with Armenia going into a low gear trying to run the clock out and that is just what they did. At the end of the night the score card read, four goals to nil in favor of Armenia, while Andorra
were left feeling like they had just been run over by a bulldozer.
Armenia had over sixty percent of the possession in the game and managed to get eighteen shots away as compared to the two that Andorra had. The stats just manage to prove how one sided the affair really was in the end.
