  1. Buy Euro ones no commission when you buy them. Other than that there is no real difference.

  2. If you have a bank account with ATM access and credit cards, I would recommend using those instead of travellers cheques. For most minor expenses, like snacks and local transportation, cheques are just too cumbersome to use. Instead, withdraw local currency from ATM's as needed. For most larger expenses, credit cards are accepted.

With both ATM withdrawals and credit card charges, you get the best currency conversion rate plus 1-3% service charge. That's both cheaper and more convenient than traveller's cheques.

  3. Frankly, neither.

You'd be much better off just drawing your cash out of a local ATM as and when you need it. All UK current account cards may be used in virtually any ATM in the world and, although all but one UK current account provider charges fees and commission for foreign usage of cards, it still generally works out cheaper than travellers cheques. Firstly, the commission is generally lower with an ATM. Secondly, the exchange rate is usually more favourable with an ATM.

  4. spain....travellers cheques - safer...take a little cash also as emergency.

  5. euro travellers cheques and did'nt pay any commission which we would have done if we had took sterling travellers cheques

buy euros come back with euro travellers cheques and lose money changing them back. I says to take sterling travellers cheques but then I lose money changing them abroad.

don't take EURO travellers cheques - because of the commission charges or lack of them you will find you can only cash these at the Banks. Hotels will not exchange them - some hotels, bureau exchange will NOT accept them and much prefer Sterling Travellers Cheques cos at least they get their commission

  6. if you buy sterling checks you will be charged

    commission when you buy them

if you buy euro checks you don't pay commission
