Europa League Fixture: Sevilla vs PSG Second Half Report
Second half of this match was far better than first half, as offensive spark was witnessed by both teams which resulted in a goal being scored along with a few substitutions and yellow card shown in the half.
The second half started with the changes in the starting eleven. Sevilla manager decided to make a change straight away from the start of the second half to pour in some more attacking force and change the level of game. Jose Carlos was substituted with
the very experienced Fedic Kanoute. In the midfield Tiberio Guarente replaced Luca Cigarini.
Kanoute is a player one of a kind mostly becasue of unpredictability to manage the impossible. With his induction in the team, there were a lot of changes that took place in the Spanish side. Kanoute is renowned for his creativeness, which he completely
showed in this encounter. Sevilla started to create chances. The Spanish side was totally pushing pressure on the visitors.
Everybody at Roman Sanchez witnessed the impact of the substitutions on the field. Kanoute created many chances and enjoyed a lot of possession but was not able to finish it properly. None the less, along with the current Brazilian forward Luis Fabiano,
Sevilla was coming hard on the French side Paris Saint Germain.
Only one yellow card was given in the whole match, and it was to the Paris Saint Germain’s young inexperienced defender Sieke Tiena. Tiene came in from behind on Jesus Navas and badly failed to even touch the ball. Refree showed him the yellow and gave Navas
a free kick.
The visitors were very successful in efficiently marking the players of Sevilla. The Spanish speed man was given no room at all. Paris Saint Germain sat deep and allowed Sevilla to retain the possession. But every single Sevilla man was well marked by the
PSG defender.
Without a doubt, Sevilla was allowed most of the possession and a ticket to dominate in the game but there was no striking power for the Spanish outfit. They created so many chances but all went in vain.
At last, a goal was scored in the game. A Goal, shockingly, that did not come from the home side rather from the hardworking and patient visitors. Paris Saint German scored in the Roman Sanchez in the 76th minute. It is Nene for the Paris Saint
German who scored the first goal of the match and even the difference making goal. The home crowd was stunned by that late goal from visitors. There was a complete pin drop silence in the stadium in the aftermath of the goal as a moment of brilliance had changed
it all.
It was the clinical fast break from PSG. Everybody at the Roman Sanchez would be wondering where the defence was. Sevilla defenders were poorly positioned and didn’t mark well. Luyindula received an outlet pass and he slipped through to the wide open Nene.
The attacker's shot was blocked, but fell just over the goal line to make it 1-0
After that home side tried to cover the deficit but was not able to. Every member on Sevilla team put his all effort in last few minutes to get a goal but it was outstanding defensive performance from the French side had them outclassed. Paris Saint German
defenders were up to the task on both flanks and created a wall up front. Fabiano came very close to score a goal for the home side but his header went on to strike the woodwork. May be it was a day for home side when the luck was not on their side.
Sevilla held the ball better than their guests, but even after they went behind, never really looked like scoring. PSG were hardly sharp for most of the game, but capitalised on their chance and therefore earned three points.
