Europa League Goal Summary: Besiktas 3 vs 1 Stoke City
Stoke City took on Besiktas in the Europa League, in an attempt to further extend their lead at the top of Group E.
However, having already qualified to the next round, the team was more than likely to take their foot off the gas in the game, as they looked to avoid injuries.
As a result, Besiktas were being hailed as the favourites to come out on top, once the game was played.
Stoke went on to score the first goal of the game, as they looked to apply some pressure on their opponents. In the 29th minute, Fuller went on to take a striker at goal from range and his effort took a massive deflection before landing in the
back of the net.
In the 57th minute Upson went on to produce a brilliant tackle, but the referee deemed it as a bookable offence and showed the Stoke player a red card. He then awarded Besiktas with a penalty kick.
Fernandes stepped up to take the spot kick and sent an expertly taken shot into the bottom left. With the keeper having gone the wrong way, the ball sailed into the back of the net.
As a result, the game was now level at one goal apiece.
In the 75th minute of the game, Besiktas went on to strike once again as they went on to take the lead in the game. Fernandes whipped in a tantalizing cross from the corner and the ball fell straight towards Pektemek. The
Besiktas player headed the ball straight into the goal, beyond the reach of the keeper.

sailing straight into the top left corner of the goal.
As a result of that last shot, the match ended with Stoke losing out by three goals to one.
The defeat saw Stoke drop to the second spot in the group, as Besiktas took the top spot heading into the round of thirty two.
