Europa League: Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro still not in clearance to play against Steaua Bucharest
The star Napoli centre back, Paolo Cannavaro was benched in his team’s practice session in Italy and it is feared that he might not feature in the important upcoming fixtures of the club.
It has been revealed that his thigh injury has the tendency to deteriorate even further if he continues to play so as a precautionary measure he was told to sit out the training session.
However ruling him out of a match is too hard for the club right now therefore he has been flown to Romania to participate in the Partenopei's Europa League match against Steaua Bucharest.
Yesterday the Italian club Napoli finished their final practice session after which they flew to Romania for their UEFA Europa League encounter.
Their Romanian opponents Steaua Bucharest are obviously expected to be beaten by Napoli in the clash as they hail from the hardcore Italian League, Serie A. Last season they finished at the 6th position in Serie A but their bunch did include very
talented and skillful teams.
However Steaua Bucharest will pose a threat to the Partenopei as they themselves finished at the 4th position in their domestic league, Liga 1. Also as Ros-Albastrii are playing at home therefore they will gain the field advantage.
Reports have concluded that the Italian side had a number of athletic exercises followed by a discussion of strategy and plans to attack the weaknesses of Romanian side.
Later officials from the club confirmed that Napoli manager Walter Mazzari did have a couple of tricks up his sleeve and he will be looking forward to exploit the weakness of Steaua Bucharest.
The manager of Steaua Bucharest Marius Lăcătuş has stated that he is confident in the abilities of his team and is looking forward to the match.
Now the main concern for the Azzurri will be Paolo Cannavaro who will possibly enter the match without being trained. The team’s doctors have revealed that all basically depends on the whether the strain on his thigh muscles is better or not.
Now Napoli have resumed their training in Romania in the Bucharest stadium. The team management has confirmed that the fate of Cannavaro will be decided late just before the start of the match tomorrow.
