The Zebrette head coach has not given up hope of qualifying for Europe despite their recent dip in form which has seen them drop from the
third place into fifth.
There are fears that the Friulani outfit might be in free fall after victories continue to delude Guidolin’s men in recent weeks. They fell to a disappointing
2-2 draw against Napoli, a match which they should have won as they gave away their two goals advantage, and in
week day 30 fixture of the Serie A, they lost out to lowly ranked AC Siena.

There has been severe criticism levied on the Bianconeri due to their inability to hold onto the third position. Udinese’s woes were magnified after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 were unable to gain any leverage in the race for the third position.

Guidolin conceded his disappointment in the result his men got against Giuseppe Sannino’s men, while also admitting that his side did not perform to their
usual standards, remarking:
“We missed a good chance to get a result. Siena played better in the first half, while we improved after the break and were only unable to score.”
The tactician further went on to state that his side were not deficient in the physical aspect, and were mentally tired. However, he reaffirmed that his
men were motivated in their pursuit of European action, and commented:
“Once again today we showed that we are in good physical shape, but are not sharp. There are some difficulties, but we are not dead yet and if we are in
Europe next season then there’s only reason to celebrate.”
The former Palermo boss mentioned that the Friulani outfit have had a wonderful season so far, and they have achieved a lot this season. He also mentioned
that he would have gladly accepted the current position they are in had he been offered this at the beginning of the season. He further mentioned:
“At the start of the season, if they’d told me we would be in this position at this stage, I wouldn’t have believed them.”
Guidolin also stated that European qualification was imperative for the club, regardless of the tournament.
