I want to go to France for a semester but i am afraid that i might get homesick but it will cost me about 12000 dollars, which i am not worrying about. Now i can either study in Canada for a month for only 1500 dollars. I can always go to Canada and i always dream of going to France. What should i do? France or Canada? for those who had study in Canada or France before, can you give me some advice?

  1. I am a Canadian so I have to stress to you -  it really does depend on where in Canada you are thinking?  In most of Canada we are english with a very modern life and cities such as Toronto and Vancouver and Calgary you will see a lifestyle like you would see in New York, LA or any major city. If you go to outer areas - the maritmes,  it is still cosmopolitan in the capitals but the rest are sleepier and similar to small towns anywhere else.  If you go to Quebec, unless you go to Montreal you will have an almost entirely french community - but it is not Parisian french,  it is French-Canadian which differs from the Continental French spoken in France.  Be aware of the city you are looking at.  If you go to Toronto,  you could be in New York (only cleaner, and more friendly but english - with many different cultures intertwined)  if you got to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa etc/...the same thing applies.  If you go to Montreal  it is part English/part French-Canadian./    Learn about the language first and then make your decision.

  2. go to france, take the trip youll regret it if you dont in the future. you can always take a trip and drive to canada. lets see you drive across the ocean!
