European Championship Division One: Austria v Gibraltar – First Innings Recap
Despite some facing some consistent losses on the batting line up, team Austria managed to post an adequate total of 141 runs in the game’s first innings against Gibraltar in the European Championship Division One Twenty20 (T20) Series at the Guernsey Rovers

The bout kicked off after Gibraltar won the toss and chose to field. The side came out with its bowling attack featuring medium pacers Ross Harkins and Aaron Bagiletto. In response, the Austrian innings took off as opening batsmen Lakmal Kasturiarachchige
and Simpson-Parker, made their way to the crease.
With just few deliveries into the game, Kasturiarachchige (4) made a quick return to the pavilion after being caught out by the Gibraltar wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kieron-J-Ferrary-c71445 off Harkins’ delivery.
Erwin Grasinger was the next player in line to join Parker. However, the two failed to enter into a partnership as Parker’s (0) wicket too came up in the second over of the innings. The Austrian’s disappointing run at the crease was brought to an end by
Bagiletto.
Following the quick losses for the Austrians, Benji Loader made his way to the pitch to replace http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Parker-c80761.
Once again, during the early moments of the partnership between the Austrian pair, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gibraltar-c2906 bowling attack offered another blow to the side, earning Grasinger’s wicket in the session’s 4th over. The wicket was owned by Bagiletto; the player’s
second for the day.
With three players already returning to the pavilion in the early moments of the session, the troubled Austrians were able to score a fair sum of 19 runs from 4 overs.
However, a little hope came for the batting side as Loader managed to engage some aggressive batting, scoring decent boundaries for the side. However, just when the Austrian side picked up its pace, the Gibraltar bowlers offered more resistance bringing
an end to Loader’s innings.
After an aggressive performance at the crease, Loader exited the pitch after accumulating 23 runs including 4 boundaries.
However, the team’s loss did not stop there. Following the loss of the 4th player, the Austrian skipper Amar Naeem made his way to the pitch, only to make a quick return. The captain’s wicket came in the following over after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naeem-c78451, failing to
offer much with the bat, scored just 9 runs off 11 deliveries.
Four down batsman Syed Qamar was the next player to be declared out in the next over. The troubled batting side had by now lost 6 players after scoring a total of 57 runs till the end of the inning’s first half.
However, with the arrival of the savior, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193 Asif, the side saw some improvement in the score, as Asif delivered some aggressive shots upon his arrival.
The session finally continued at a swift pace as Asif managed to place a strong footing on the crease earning some fair runs for the side despite more Austrian players losing out on their stumps.
Asif’s was the final wicket for the Gibraltar bowlers. The Austrian managed to pose a significant contribution to the total after scoring some fair 35 runs from 22 balls. Asif’s innings included 4 boundaries and a six.
With some competitive bowling offered by the Gibraltar players, the Austrians managed to bring a close to their session after collecting a decent total of 141 runs.
