European Championship Division One: France v Israel – Match Recap
Israel suffered yet another defeat at the hands of France, this time. With the close of the match, the French marked their second win on the tournament after the opponent fell 32 runs short of the chase. The game took off as the 5th
Group B competition on the European Championship Division One Twenty20 (T20) Series and was staged at the Grainville ground, St Saviour, on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
The two contenders have so far participated in 4 games on the competition with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/France-c2899 securing two wins from the total while Israel suffering all defeats, landing them on the bottom of the group ranking.
The two teams took to the field after Israel won the toss, forcing the French into batting. The session began as French batsmen http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdul-Rehman-c41625 Qureshi geared up to face the Israeli bowlers, David Massil and Eliezar Samson.
In an early blow to the French top order, Massil offered a quick jolt to the batting side, securing Ayyavooraju’s wicket, on a duck.
However, the loss was quickly recouped as French skipper, Waseem Bhatti, came on to replace the opener.  
The skipper, taking on some defensive batting, aided Qureshi in earning quick runs for the side but to his despair, the skipper was made to exit the pitch.
Making a quick return to the pavilion, Bhatti managed to earn a minor score of 4 from 12 balls.
Following the two quick losses, Adnan Musharif then came out to assist Qureshi, who managed to place a decent footing on the crease. The two went on to continue earning runs for the side. However, a few more minutes into the game, Musharif too left the crease
after a successful Leg before Wicket (LBW) appeal by Yaniv Razpurker.
The innings went on with some competitive performances from both the sides as Israeli bowlers offered good resistance to the French batsmen.
By the time the batting side crossed its 50 runs mark, Razpurker struck again, owning French danger-man, Qureshi’s stumps.
The batsman made his return after making a fair contribution of 35 runs to his team’s total.
With the top order already gone, the middle order took on to the pitch but failed to support the side after Israeli bowlers offered consistent blows at the order.
Following the team’s fourth loss, the session lingered on till the final delivery of the innings after the remaining French players managed to come up with a mediocre total of 112 runs with all players lost.
With the Israelis responding with the bat, the French opening bowler Qureshi, offered an early blow to the opponent bringing end to the batsman Yefet Nagavakar’s innings.
The bowlers struck again, securing another early wicket after Thomas Liddiard forced batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Barry-Dudleston-c47342 Hotz’s into exiting the pitch.
With Daniel Hayman and Shailesh Bangerra on strike, the team saw some improvement on the score but failed to continue after opener Hayman was bowled out by Williamdeep Singh.
As Solomon came to join Bangerra on the crease, the pair managed to add a few more runs to the total. However, in another impressive delivery by French spinner Zika Ali, Bangerra made his return to the pavilion.
The 4th wicket stumbled the Israeli batting lineup that resulted in successive loss of wickets in the following overs.
Failing to cover up the chase, the batting side was finally defeated as the final wicket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Israel-c2925 came in the last over of the day.
With all players declared out, the Israeli side suffered its 4th consecutive loss after the French secured a 32 runs win.
