European Club Championships: Anne Hald Jensen stuns Sinead Chambers in Women’s Singles showdown
Anne Hald Jensen, a talented female shuttler from Greece, put up staggering show when she outclassed Sinead Chambers of Ireland in Women’s Singles clash at the European Club Championships 2012 on Wednesday, May 30, in Hungary.
Anne Hald, who has been impressive in the court in all of her matches in the championships, remained composed and positive in her fight against Chambers and eventually won it in a convincing fashion.
The Greek lady found a perfect start as she took no time in controlling the pace of rallies and easily registered a comprehensive victory over her Irish opponent in straight games while taking just 30 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, Chambers tried to compete well against her in-form Greek rival but failed to get into commanding position at any stage in the game and lost the battle easily in straight sets.
Anne Hald started her run in a striking manner as she played to her best speed in opening rallies and spared no chance for her rival to find a good rhythm.
The Greed shuttler managed a comprehensive lead on the score board until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Chambers showed a few glimpses of her class but failed to end the huge gap on the score board.
In the meanwhile, Anne Hald continued playing in a commanding way without committing unforced errors. She was quite focused and played powerful shots in right areas which helped her to grab the first game with a tremendous 21-12 score on the board.
In the following set, Chambers put up impressive show in opening rallies as she matched the pace of rallies and also pushed her Greek opponent on the back foot.
However, the Irish lady could not set up a reasonable lead until the one-minute break as her opponent also played well.
After the interval, Anne Hald injected more power in her shots and took over the control from her opponent. She played with precision at net and managed to take the game with a 21-17 score on the board.
Anne Hald won this straight set contest by consuming just 30 minutes with an impressive margin of 21-12 and 21-17.
