European Club Championships: Jerry Natenstedt overpowers Mateusz Dubowski in Men’s Singles battle
Netherland’s impressive shuttler Jerry Natenstedt showed his class when he delivered impressive performance and overpowered Mateusz Dubowski of Poland in Men’s Singles battle at the European Club Championships 2012 in Hungary, on Wednesday, May 30.
The Dutch shuttler had to employ all of his skills in this fabulous fight and he remained successful in beating his Polish rival in a thrilling rubber-set contest.
Natenstedt failed to find a perfect start in this fight and lost the first game. However, he powered his way back into the battle by playing to his maximum speed and took the following both games to win the battle in 39 minutes.
On the other hand, Dubowski showed his brilliance in opening set and won it but failed to maintain his elevated performance and eventually lost the match in three games with a decent margin on the score board.
In the first game, both men put up an entertaining show by playing remarkable badminton in the first game as they remained quite close until the one-minute interval.
After the break, the Dutch tried to occupy the driving seat but failed to push his opponent on back foot and eventually lost the set with a tight 19-21 margin on the score board.
In the following set, Natenstedt changed his playing style and became quicker in the court. He did not waste any time in putting and put up a staggering show of top class badminton to set up a superb lead.
After the break, Natenstedt continued showing his impressive craft and dominated his positive position in the court and eventually took the game with a huge margin of 21-13.
In the final set, Dubowski tried to live up to expectations by putting up strong resistance but he failed to take any benefit as Natenstedt was in commanding position.
He Dutch shuttler remained positive in the court and he played safe badminton with committing unforced errors. He was in impressive form in the court and managed to take the final set with a margin of 21-15.
Natenstedt won the hard-fought battle in 39 minutes with a 19-21, 21-13 and 21-15 on the board.
