European Club Championships: Myriam Have stuns Karolina Janowska in Women’s Singles showdown
Luxembourg’s female shuttler Myriam Have proved her mettle when she put up an amazing show and stunned Karolina Janowska of Poland in Women’s Singles showdown at the European Club Championships 2012 in Hungary, on Thursday, May 31.
Myriam, who have been struggling hard to find a good rhythm, showed her impressive class when she played with confidence and overpowered the experienced Karolina with a respectable score on the board.
The spirited Myriam played with control against her Polish rival and ended up this Women’s Singles contest in straight set while consuming just 30 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, Karolina tried her best to break the rhythm of her opponent but failed to dictate the pace at any stage.
The Polish shuttler also committed uncharacteristic errors in the court and eventually bowed down to her rival without taking any set.
The match started in a fascinating fashion as both ladies worked really hard to take an early advantage in the opening set but none of them could make it as the speed and perfection remained at the same level from both sides.
They continued their positive and thrilling battle until the end of opening half while remaining close on the score board.
After the mid-game interval, both shuttlers again showed their aggression in the court and played to their full potential.
The score entered into the ending phase when Myriam showed her fascinating skills and managed to grab the opening set by a narrow difference of 21-19 on the score board.
Karolina tried to show her brilliance in the opening points of second set but failed to overpower her rival who was also playing with an incredible speed in the court.
Both ladies again failed to take a comfortable lead on the score board until the 60-second interval in the set.
After the break, Myriam put up gutsy performance again and took over the control from her Polish rival. She was playing the best badminton of her career and wrapped up second game with a tight margin of 21-19.
Myriam won this interesting battle in straight game by taking just 30 minutes with a 21-19 and 21-19 score on the board.
