European Club Championships: Ramazan Ozturk smacks down Gergely Krausz in opening match

Men’s Singles campaigner Ramazan Ozturk of Turkey stamped his supremacy over Gergely Krausz of Hungary in opening match of European Club Championships on May 29, 2012.
Both players remained locked in a tense 44-minute tussle for three hard fought games and finished this contest with final results of 21-14, 20-22 and 11-21.
Ramazan, who represents Egospor badminton club, was bit scratchy in start but he made commendable come back to secure the honour.
On the other hand, the Hungarian campaigner frittered away a golden chance of straight-set win and knelt down in final two games.
Gergely Krausz, who was playing for Hajdu Gabona Debreceni TC club, started his marathon in a perfect manner as he won first set convincingly.
He unleashed unbeatable skills to gain an immediate advantage and then successfully maintained his dominance all the way to the final shot.
In first half, Gergely entered some quick points in score log and pushed his opponent on to the back-foot. He kept Ramazan constantly at lower end with some power packed rallies and reached at decent total of 11 until half time.
After the interval, Gergely lost focus for short span of time but soon he woke up and wrapped the first segment of the show by registering concluding margin of 21-14.
Next segment was most captivating part of the show as both contenders put all they got to achieve their respective goals.
The Hungarian was looking to finish this battle in just two games while the Turkish player was out there to avoid an early exit.
They remained close to each other and game kept swinging between them until Ramazan tipped the scale in his favour.
He managed to keep the contest alive by ending second set with a tight yet decisive figure of 22-20.
This 1-1 match score position placed them at same level and both shuttlers were just one point away from a crucial win.
They displayed good fighting spirit in first half of the set as none of them could establish an unassailable lead but later part of the game completely belonged to Ramazan Ozturk.
The Turkish shuttler fetched a vital point for his team by registering a significant total of 21-11.
