European Honeymoon?

We're having a VERY hard time trying to decide where to spend our 2-week honeymoon at the end of May 2009. We're looking for a mix of culture and relaxing sun/ beach. These are our options:

1) Paris & Southern France

2) Barcelona & Southern Spain

3) Italy (ie. Florence, Rome & Venice)

4) Greek Islands

Which would also be the cheapest option?

Thanks!

  1. Prices are more or less the same in the big cities, and the beach destinations are still relatively quiet that time of the year, so you should find many special deals.  Why don't you follow your heart and once you know which country you would like to visit most, then try to find a romantic reasonably priced accomodation.

I would recommend Italy for a honey moon: nothing can beat Venice !

  2. I don't know which would be the cheapest for sure but I would guess the Greek islands. it's seems like the best place for enjoyment too. I love the culture and the small island the have cities right on the side of a hill because then almost everywhere has a good view. Not too mention the good food. And from Greece it wouldn't be that hard to take a little look around Italy.

  3. Hey I am assuming you are not European. To be honest I would recommend a visit to Scotland. Such a beautiful country. Very romantic! It would also allow a visit to France/Paris. Regarding costs etc. A visit to Scotland can be very reasonable. Glasgow and Edinburgh tend to be more expensive than the other cities for accommodation , although Aberdeen and Dundee are also very good to visit. The Highlands and Islands are stunning with white sea-shell beaches in the west, and to the Outer-Hebrides and their unique Gaelic culture. WE even have distinctly Nordic islands in the Orkney's and Shetlands!

  4. First of all sorry for all the mistakes you'll find !!

Probably the cheapest one would be the Spain..but more less prices in these 4 countries are similar. I'm Italian and if you chose Italy I suggest you to spend your honeymoon visiting the three cities, spending some days in Venice than Florence and at least Rome, to finish in a fantastic way your holiday! I mean, visit these 3 cities would be the best thing to do, 'cause each one has a fantastic atmosphere, wonderful landscape, a famous artistic history, but in different ways!! If you want to chose only one city i suggest you to spend your time in Rome!!! probably it's the most wonderful city in Italy! And in May it's not too hot and not too cold..it's the perfect wether! You can relax yourself, doing shopping and having fun!!!

Paris  too is fantastic! I've been there many times and it's my favourit European city! It has got a particular atmosphere, really unique!! Probably one of the best place where spend your honeymoon!! But among theese four countries probably it's the most expensive..but it's worth while!!!

The south of Spain is a mixture of sun, sea, beutiful cities and fun!! It's a fantatic coast, and Barcelona is  amazing!! But in my opinoin it's better go there in summer...however if you are looking for relax, fun and sea it's the right place!!

The Greak islands are great!! Wonderful sea and a fantastic wether!! But they are different among theme..Creta is an island for families, or people who want to relax! Rodi is a little island near Creta with stunning landscape, but no very much night life. And Santorini too. The island where you have really fun is Mikonos...it's very beautiful, the sea is great and you can have a lot of fun!! It depends on what you prefer! But don't visit Atene...it's terrible!

Ok, i hope to have been helpful!

    Have a good honeymoon ^.^
