European Mixed Team Championships: Hans Kristian Vittinghus easily outwits Calum Menzies
Denmark’s spirited player Hans Kristian Vittinghus showed his elite skills when he easily outwitted Scotland’s Calum Menzies in Men’s Singles fight at European Mixed Team Championships 2013 in Russia, on Friday, February 15.
The experienced Hans Kristian, who has made a respectable place for himself at international stage, played with tremendous speed against Calum and easily won the battle by taking only 13 minutes in the arena.
Danish shuttler was one class above his Scottish challenger as he played with impressive speed and precision and managed to end up this one-sided contest with a stunning 21-5 and 21-10 margin on the score board.
In the meanwhile, Calum was in all sorts of trouble as he faced a fierce opposition in the form of Hans Kristian. He could not produce finishing strokes and eventually lost the match without even showing his brilliance at any stage.
Hans Kristian showed his aggression on court from the opening points of first set by building a huge pressure on his opponent.
The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first set and Hans Kristian impressed local crowd with his unparalleled craft. He was in his top form on court and remained successful in setting up an early lead.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Hans Kristian stayed in complete command of rallies and he did not face even a meagre resistance from his rival and took a smashing lead on the score board.
The match proceeded in the same way after the one-minute interval as Hans Kristian did not lose his commanding position in the arena.
Hans Kristian remained consistent in employing powerful strokes in targeted areas and grabbed the opening game with a staggering 21-5 total on the score board.
Calum tried his best to play tricky badminton in first part of second game but he failed to create pressure on his opponent.
Hans Kristian impressed the crowd with his lofty skills that assisted him to maintain pressure on his challenger who failed to produce good form.
The attacking and positive play in the ending half of second set assisted Hans Kristian to earn the set with a superb 21-10 margin on the board.
