European Mixed Team Championships: Rajiv Ouseph outplays Viktor Axelsen in Men’s Singles battle
England’s top shuttler Rajiv Ouseph was at his best in the arena as he played top quality badminton and toppled Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen in Men’s Singles battle at European Mixed Team Championships 2013 in Russia, on Saturday, February 16.
Rajiv has been impressive throughout this team-event championship as he played terrific badminton and remained successful in winning this battle against Viktor in an impressive fashion by consuming just 30 minutes in the arena.
English shuttler played to his maximum potential as he remained in complete control of the game and he easily registered a comprehensive victory over Viktor in straight games put putting up a spectacular 21-16 and 21-12 score on the board.
On the contrary, the lanky Danish shuttler failed to play aggressive and positive badminton. He could not create gaps in his challenger’s court and eventually failed to avoid a straight-set defeat without even getting close.
Rajiv performed extremely well from the initial points of first set as he played with wonderful speed and took over the control of the game.
The English shutter was incredibly quick in taking the bird timely and he did not encounter any trouble in placing his strokes in targeted areas. He did not show any sign of confusion as he was in complete control of the pace until the end of first half.
The underdog Viktor could not change things around after the one-minute break as he lost his focus on court. He was on a different level as he did not miss any chance of earning points and stayed in lead.
The positive and aggressive play of Rajiv assisted him to grab the opening game with a completely convincing 21-16 total on the score board.
Viktor geared up his speed to play positive badminton in starting half of second game but he failed to create pressure on his rival.
Rajiv entertained the crowd with his impressive craft that helped him to maintain pressure on his challenger who could not find positive run.
Viktor could not put up strong show in the second game of this fight as his opponent Rajiv played positive badminton and secured the set with a comfortable 21-12 score on the board.
