European Senior Championships: Konstantin Dobrev tames Francesco Paolillo in Men’s Singles clash
Bulgaria’s Konstantin Dobrev found a good start as he played remarkable badminton and advanced into Men’s Singles 35 category after crushing Italy’s Francesco Paolillo in first round clash at the European Senior Championships 2012 on Monday, September 17,
in Bulgaria.
The impressive Konstantin lived up to the expectations of his home fans as he played with precision and managed to show exit to his Italian opponent without dropping any set in the match.
Bulgarian shuttler was in tremendous form as he played fast and controlled badminton while taking the bird early and managed to end up the contest in straight sets with a stunning margin by taking 44 minutes on court.
On the other hand, the Italian shuttler remained unable to show his brilliance on court as he failed to play aggressive badminton and eventually lost to his local opponent with a humiliating margin on the score board.
In the first game, Konstantin started his campaign in a dominating fashion as he played with wonderful precision and planning which helped him to set up a reasonable lead at the early stage.
The Bulgarian player was one class above his Italian rival in all aspects as he did not waste any time on court and easily took a staggering lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, Konstantin did not show any respect to his rival as he continued playing attacking badminton and stretched his lead without committing any mistake.
Konstantin pushed Francesco in all areas of the court and managed to grab the opening set with a superb 21-7 score on the board.
The second game was also shocking for Francesco as the Bulgarian shuttler played remarkable badminton and managed a huge gap at the opening stage.
Konstantin remained on track and maintained the difference until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, Konstantin continued his roller-coaster run on court without letting his opponent to narrow the gap and eventually grabbed the second set with a remarkable difference of 21-9.
The in-form Bulgarian player remained successful in winning this Men’s Singles U35 battle with a 21-7 and 21-9 margin on score board.
