European Sports Organizing Commission meets Serbian Volleyball officials in Beograd
The European Sports Organizing Commission (ESOC) is busy making plans for the upcoming European volleyball events.
Last week, the ESOC officially gathered in Beograd, Serbia and conducted an important meeting at the Continental Hotel. The arrangements were set up by the Serbian Volleyball Federation. The members of ESOC were greeted by the Secretary General of Serbian
Volleyball Federation (SVF), Mr. Slobodan Milosevic.
The President of European Sports Organising Commission, Pierre Mulheims chaired the meeting, where they discussed different issues and talked about proposals for the upcoming CEV Board of Administration election in June. The Director of CEV Competitions,
Jean Paul Rommes was also among the prestigious guests of the meeting.
The Secretary General of SVF, Slobodan Milosevic commented that ESOC is the important entity of European Volleyball Federation. He revealed the information about various aspects of the discussion during meeting. The members of ESOC and Serbian Volleyball
Federation talked about all the organizational segments of upcoming competitions in region. The local officials proposed solutions for the betterment of European Volleyball Family.
The President of ESOC, Pierre Mulheims appreciated the positive attitude of the Serbian officials and praised their good work. He expressed his views in the following manner, “It was a good meeting and we were able to work out some very interesting proposals.
We shall also mention that this was the last ESOC reunion with this composition as there will be elections next September in Vienna and the members may change. As far as the upcoming CEV Youth European Championship is concerned, everything is running at full
speed there in Ankara and I think we won’t face any problems.”
The 2011 FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship is set to take place in Brazil from August 1-10. The European teams will have to compete at the qualification tournament, in order to reserve a berth in the World Championship. The European qualifiers will be
hosted by Serbia.
Different necessary things about the qualifiers were also discussed in the meeting. The European Volleyball Federation has introduced new online registration for aspiring players, while the participants of meeting discussed the pros and cons of the new system.
Furthermore, the formulas for next CEV competitions and new CEV database were also on the agenda.
